With the start of a new cycle, September represents a period of greater financial pressure for many families, marked by a concentration of expenses associated with the return to school, the readjustment of routines, and preparations for the months ahead. It is in this context that MEO is launching a campaign today that addresses people’s needs, with the goal of providing families with greater peace of mind and predictability.
Under the slogan “A gift that really hits the spot,” the campaign turns this concern into a concrete proposal: a gift designed to support families during a particularly demanding time of year and help ease the impact of these expenses on the family budget.
Through October 15, when signing up for MEO plans included in the promotion, new MEO customers won’t start paying the base monthly fee until January 2027, allowing them to avoid this fixed expense during the first few months and manage their household budget with greater flexibility during a particularly challenging time.
The campaign is part of MEO’s strategy to develop solutions that address consumers’ specific needs and help simplify their daily lives. By maintaining its positioning—“Life is better when we’re there”—MEO reinforces its commitment to being close to the Portuguese people and to putting technology at the service of people, their needs, and the different stages of their lives.
In addition to the main offer, there are additional benefits for MEO customers and special back-to-school offers, such as a one-school-year subscription to MestrePanda Premium—an AI-powered learning platform with exercises and content tailored to the national curriculum for grades 7 through 12—as well as special deals on the purchase of devices, such as tablets and computers. The campaign also includes a 2-month subscription to YouTube Premium Individual, with YouTube Music included. YouTube Premium provides an ad-free entertainment experience, with access to YouTube Music and features such as background playback and offline viewing, allowing users to watch their favorite content wherever and whenever they want.
The campaign film stars Gonçalo Resende, a world champion in hang gliding, a five-time national skydiving champion, and a three-time world record holder for parachute descent speed, who symbolically presents MEO’s offer to a Portuguese family after jumping from the MEO Tower in Vila Nova de Gaia. With this execution, the brand brings the concept “A gift that really hits the spot” to life, delivering the campaign’s benefit—in a literal and surprising way—directly to the “ home ” of the Portuguese people.
The back-to-school campaign will be available starting September 3 on MEO channels, as well as on television, outdoor advertising, radio, digital platforms, points of sale, and other brand channels. The full terms and conditions of the campaign, including the eligible packages and their respective enrollment requirements, are available at meo.pt.
Through these initiatives, MEO reinforces its commitment to supporting Portuguese families during this time of renewal, preparation, and the start of a new cycle, helping to ease the financial burden associated with this period.
