There are moments that will forever be etched in a festival’s history. On July 16, 2027, MEO Marés will welcome Sir Rod Stewart, one of the most iconic and successful artists in the world of music. As part of “The Final Encore,” the tour marks the artist’s farewell to life on the road, after more than six decades of an extraordinary live career.
Rod Stewart’s appearance takes on even greater significance because it comes in a historic year for MEO Marés: 2027 marks the 20th anniversary of the festival’s inception.

It’s been 20 years of making things happen. Two decades of music, of encounters, of thousands of stories lived out in front of a stage, and of a bond forged between artists, audiences, partners, and the local community. More than just marking a certain number of editions, 2027 celebrates a journey that began 20 years ago and a festival’s ability to continue growing, transforming, and looking toward the future without losing its identity.

And few choices could better symbolize this moment than Rod Stewart. With a career spanning more than six decades, Sir Rod Stewart is one of the most iconic figures in the history of popular music. From his time with the Faces to his extraordinary solo career, he has built a repertoire that has spanned generations and includes songs such as “Maggie May,” “Sailing,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” “Baby Jane,” “Forever Young,” and “Have I Told You Lately.”

With approximately 250 million albums and singles sold worldwide, his unmistakable voice has become the soundtrack for several generations, in a career that includes 31 singles in the British Top 10—six of which reached number one—16 Top 10 hits in the United States, and 11 number-one albums in the United Kingdom. He is also a two-time inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and has been honored as a Grammy Living Legend.

The scope of his live career is equally extraordinary. Rod Stewart performed before an estimated audience of 3.5 million people on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, headlined a 13-year residency featuring 200 shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and, more than half a century after becoming a global headliner, continues to hold a unique place in the history of live music.

"The Final Encore" marks the culmination of an extraordinary live career. After more than six decades on stage, Rod Stewart has announced that this will be his final tour, turning each concert into a celebration of a legacy that has spanned eras, styles, and generations.

On July 16, this farewell tour stops at MEO Marés, where the audience will have the opportunity to revisit some of the most iconic songs from his repertoire, including “Maggie May,” “You Wear It Well,” “Tonight’s the Night (Gonna Be Alright),” “Hot Legs,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” “Young Turks,” “Baby Jane,” “Forever Young,” “You’re in My Heart,” “Rhythm of My Heart,” “The First Cut Is the Deepest,” “Sailing,” and “Have I Told You Lately,” among many others.

Rod Stewart at MEO Marés will, therefore, be more than just a concert. It will be the coming together of two stories shaped by music: the farewell tour of one of the world’s greatest music legends and the celebration of the 20th anniversary of a festival that continues to shape its future.

July 16, 2027. Rod Stewart. The Final Encore. MEO Marés.
An evening to celebrate 20 years of memories and to be part of one of the final chapters of a truly one-of-a-kind career.
