SAPO Awards Open Voting to the Public for the First Time
​​​The SAPO Awards, which annually recognize the best in digital advertising in Portugal, are now entering a new phase with the opening of public voting—a first in their more than 20-year history. Voting, now available on the official SAPO Awards website, strengthens the initiative’s connection with the SAPO audience, who will be able to choose the top winners in five new categories:
  • People's Choice Award – Best Advertising Campaign;
  • Audience Award – Best News Partner;
  • Audience Award – Best Sports Partner;
  • People's Choice Award – Best Culture and Lifestyle Partner;
  • Audience Award – Best Local Partner. 

This new development comes as part of the 23rd edition of the SAPO Awards, which continues to highlight creativity, innovation, and effectiveness in advertising in Portugal, recognizing the work of agencies, brands, producers, and industry professionals.


This edition also features nine jury categories covering various aspects of digital communication, including Display, Video, Content Marketing, Performance, Connected TV, Omnichannel, Use of Technology, Social Responsibility, and Branded Podcast campaigns. In addition, there are awards for Best Campaign of the Year, Best Advertiser, and Agency of the Year.

The selection of the best entries in these categories is the responsibility of a panel of experts, composed of renowned professionals from the advertising industry in Portugal:

  • Carla Rodrigues, What About Agency;
  • Duarte Durão, NOSSA;
  • Fábio Polido, The Office;
  • Filipe Neves, Arena Media;
  • João Santos, Continente;
  • Maria Carvalho, Publicis;
  • Mariana Lorena, Hearts & Science;
  • Sandra Alvarez, APPM;
  • Susana Silva, Essence Mediacom (WPP);
  • Tiago Simões, Betclic. 

The SAPO Awards, whose winners will be announced on May 29, have established themselves as a benchmark in the country, serving as a barometer of trends in digital communication and fostering the relationship between brands and consumers in the online environment. 
Through this initiative, SAPO actively and consistently contributes to innovation in the digital ecosystem. This year, by opening the voting to the public, it has brought the SAPO Audience Awards even closer to the public, in a joint celebration of excellence in digital advertising.
