Altice Labs celebrates 10th edition of InnovAction and reinforces leadership in global technological innovation
Altice Labs presents the 10th edition of InnovAction, an annual magazine that brings together the main technological advances, research projects, and strategic collaborations that marked 2025 and will define the future of the sector. More than just a technical publication, InnovAction reflects Altice Labs' commitment to innovation, connectivity, and the creation of disruptive solutions for telecommunications.

The latest edition of InnovAction brings together 15 technical articles that demonstrate Altice Labs' ability to anticipate trends and develop next-generation technologies, focusing on 5G, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, sustainability, edge computing, and digital sovereignty. From advanced automation to autonomous architectures, the articles in the publication translate into robust, scalable, and future-oriented solutions.

Among the main highlights of this edition, three major areas of technological transformation stand out:
  • Artificial intelligence in telecommunications: Agentic AI's role in BOTSchool, an intelligent conversation platform that redefines business automation, is highlighted; the AURA platform, which cross-references customer voice with network data to identify anomalies early on; MyButler, a multimodal intelligent agent for the Connected Home; and the adoption of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which powers autonomous operations on the NOSSIS platform (Altice Labs' operational support system).
  • Next-generation networks: highlights include the development of 5G Small Cells with integrated edge computing capabilities to support critical applications; the evolution of optical networks with 50G TWDM-PON technology, complemented by a comparison between IMDD and Coherent PON solutions; and the introduction of Intent-Based Networking models, which enable more automated, scalable, and secure operations.
  • Data science, explainability, and trust: advances in Explainable Artificial Intelligence are evident, particularly through SHAP structures for model optimization, as well as false positive and false negative detection systems, failure prediction, and automatic cluster creation that reinforce predictive maintenance and operational robustness.
A history of innovation and commitment to the future
With more than seven decades of innovation, Altice Labs continues to create more humane, sustainable, and intelligent technology, reinforcing its commitment to building the digital future. For João Paulo Firmeza, General Manager of Altice Labs, “the energy of this edition reflects Altice Labs’ ambition to build the future. The talent of our teams and the strength of our partnerships continue to drive solutions with real impact."

Created a decade ago, InnovAction highlights Portugal's role at the forefront of European innovation, promoting more secure, efficient, and autonomous networks, and strengthening the global competitiveness of the telecommunications sector. Over the years, the publication has established itself as one of the main technical references in the sector, bringing together projects, research, and trends that anticipate the future of networks and digital services.
