MEO is once again teaming up with Summer Opening as the festival’s technology partner, having ensured full connectivity at the venue since 2019 by providing Wi-Fi and the connections necessary for the organization and the artists to operate.
This year, MEO’s presence at the event takes on a new dimension with the participation of Fundação MEO, which reinforces the group’s commitment to inclusion and the democratization of access to culture. As part of this partnership, the Fundação MEO provide, for the first time at Summer Opening, Portuguese Sign Language (LGP) interpretation at several of the festival’s concerts. The initiative will take place on July 4 during the performances by Pedro Sampaio, Zarko, and Beatriz Abrunhosa, which will feature interpreters positioned at the front of the stage, allowing the deaf community to follow along and fully enjoy the musical experience.
This initiative is part of the Música com Sentido project, an initiative of Fundação MEO places accessibility at the heart of cultural performances, promoting inclusive, barrier-free experiences for all audiences, regardless of their sensory, motor, or cognitive abilities. The project has established itself as a leader in the field of cultural inclusion, demonstrating how technology can be an essential tool in breaking down barriers and creating accessible experiences.
Through this initiative, the Fundação MEO help build a more inclusive cultural environment, ensuring that no one is left out of the moments that bring people together the most. Participation in the Summer Opening also reinforces the Fundação MEO strategy Fundação MEO promote accessibility at large-scale cultural events, encouraging the adoption of best practices in the sector and expanding the social impact of culture.
