MEO Raises More Than 60,000 Euros Through a Charity Initiative in Leiria
MEO has given a very positive assessment of the charity initiative organized in connection with the Portugal–Nigeria friendly match in preparation for the 2026 World Cup, held in Leiria, which raised a total of 62,331 euros to support the victims of Storm Kristin. This amount is the result of a joint effort led by MEO, based on two main initiatives: the ticket sales campaign, through which the company donated 1 euro for every ticket sold for the match, and the charity auction of official National Team jerseys.
As part of the ticket sales campaign, 15,000 euros were raised, with the remaining amount coming from a charity auction of official jerseys signed by the National Team players, reflecting the participants’ strong spirit of solidarity. The entire amount will be donated to the Social Emergency Fund—Support for Victims of Storm Kristin—run by the Diocesan Caritas of Leiria, helping to address the most urgent needs of the affected communities.
With this initiative, MEO reinforces its commitment to solidarity and support for communities, promoting mobilization around a common cause and demonstrating the potential of sports as a vehicle for positive social impact.
