During the three days of MEO Marés 2026, festivalgoers generated more than 29 terabytes of data traffic across mobile and Wi-Fi networks. On MEO’s mobile network alone, 13.5 TB were consumed, of which 7.6 TB were on 5G, reflecting the growing use of next-generation networks to share videos, photos, and moments in real time.
The technology operation supported the more than 100,000 visitors who passed through the venue, ensuring full mobile coverage, dedicated Wi-Fi, and an infrastructure designed to support communications, live broadcasts, and critical festival operations. Mobile data usage grew by about 75% compared to the 2025 edition, confirming that festivals are increasingly becoming spaces for digital sharing.
MEO’s Wi-Fi network recorded 4,500 unique connected customers, accounting for 16 TB of traffic, while the mobile network handled more than 77,000 calls and approximately 80,000 minutes of talk time throughout the event.
