MEO Monte Verde is returning to Monte Verde Beach in Ribeira Grande from August 6 to 8, reaffirming its status as one of the Azores’ leading cultural events. As the festival’s naming sponsor since 2019, MEO reinforces, year after year, its commitment to promoting culture, technological innovation, and inclusion, contributing to an increasingly unique experience for festivalgoers, artists, and the local community.
MEO Monte Verde is thus once again committed to concrete solutions that promote a more accessible, independent, and participatory experience for all festivalgoers. After becoming the first festival in the Azores to incorporate Portuguese Sign Language (LGP) interpretation in its previous edition, the event is now taking another step toward inclusion by offering the Sentido app, developed by Fundação MEO. Through the app, attendees will be able to follow, in real time and from anywhere on the festival grounds, the LGP interpretation of the main concerts on the MEO stage. This solution complements the “Música com Sentido” initiative, also from Fundação MEO, which aims to place accessibility at the heart of shows and festivals to ensure that everyone—regardless of their sensory, motor, or cognitive abilities—can enjoy full, barrier-free cultural experiences.
The festival will also provide a designated area for people with limited mobility, ensuring greater comfort and better visibility during the performances.
After becoming the first festival in the Azores to include Portuguese Sign Language interpreters at its concerts, MEO Monte Verde continues to establish itself as a regional leader in promoting cultural accessibility, demonstrating how technology can help break down barriers and bring people together.
Technology that brings the festival to life
MEO also provides all the technological infrastructure that supports the festival’s operations. In 2026, approximately 5 kilometers of fiber-optic cable and about 1 km of UTP cable were installed, ensuring connectivity, live broadcasts, and continuous support for the event’s operations.
The venue will feature enhanced mobile coverage for 2G, 4G, and 5G, as well as a dedicated Wi-Fi network serving the festival grounds, campground, and backstage areas. The infrastructure will support communications for artists, production teams, partners, and the media, ensuring a high-quality digital experience for everyone involved.
The MEO network also plays a key role in ensuring the event’s safety by providing dedicated communications with the police, fire department, and INEM, as well as continuous monitoring systems that enable the rapid tracking and response to any incident.

In addition to its technological infrastructure and accessibility solutions, MEO is once again making its presence felt at the venue with activations designed to provide festivalgoers with unique experiences. The big new feature of this edition is the MEO Slide, an experience that will allow festivalgoers to enter the venue in a creative and fun way, through an alternative entrance that combines entertainment, excitement, and engagement with the brand.
