This strategic agreement strengthens cross-border connectivity, enabling both companies to provide 100 Gbps and 400 Gbps multi-capacity services between designated local access points in Portugal and Spain.

The new interconnection ensures a diverse and secure route for data transmission, guaranteeing greater redundancy, resilience and scalability for the customers of both operators. Through this collaboration, MEO and AXENT now offer robust and flexible capacity services, with the possibility of extending connectivity directly to specific customer sites whenever necessary.

This initiative reinforces the long-standing cooperation between the two companies and reflects their shared commitment to responding to the growing demand for high-performance cross-border connectivity on the Iberian Peninsula. The agreement was formalized during the second edition of the Atlantic Convergence event, held in Lisbon.

"By connecting to AXENT, we guarantee our customers access to secure, high-capacity routes that support their growing digital needs and strengthen Portugal's connection to Spain and the rest of Europe," adds Ana Carla Sousa, Director of MEO Wholesale Solutions.

"This partnership with MEO allows us to strengthen the expansion of our international network and offer greater value to our customers through more diversified and scalable routes," says Peng Yan, AXENT's Chief Commercial Officer.
