From July 18 to 20, Vila Nova de Gaia will once again host MEO Marés Vivas, one of the biggest music festivals in the north of the country, celebrating its 17th edition this year. For the 13th consecutive year, MEO is the naming sponsor and strategic partner of the event, reaffirming its commitment to culture, technological innovation and, ever more clearly, inclusion and sustainability.
More than a sponsor, MEO is an active agent in transforming the festival-goer experience, contributing to a more connected, safe and accessible experience for all.
Total connectivity: technology at the service of experience
With a state-of-the-art network infrastructure, MEO guarantees full fiber optic coverage, Wi-Fi and mobile communications (2G, 4G and 5G) throughout the grounds of the former Madalena Camping Park. The 2025 edition will have around 6 km of fiber installed, allowing live broadcasts, digital access and support for partners, media and emergency services.
The installation of 150 network devices and a dedicated mobile station ensures an excellent connectivity experience, positioning MEO Marés Vivas as one of the most technologically advanced festivals in the country. In addition, festival-goers will have charging areas and Brick Stations for renting power banks.
Festival for all: accessibility and inclusion as a priority
Under the motto "Music with Meaning", MEO has been leading a new approach to inclusion at Portuguese festivals, making MEO Marés Vivas a true example of accessibility, respect for diversity and social innovation. In 2025, in partnership with Access Lab, the festival will once again stage initiatives that allow anyone, regardless of their physical, sensory or cognitive abilities, to experience music to the full:
- Sensory vests and Portuguese Sign Language interpreters for deaf people;
- Pause rooms and sensory kits for neurodivergent people, with sensory regulation spaces;
- Adapted platforms, accessible toilets and lowered counters in key services;
- Inclusive signage to facilitate orientation in the venue;
- Free distribution of wheelchairs and electric boosters, available at a dedicated stand;
- Visual guides to the event, with advance information about the venue, designed for greater predictability and comfort.
Also in this edition, the Fundação MEO is reinforcing its role as an agent of social transformation, through actions with a concrete impact on the ground. The integration of disabled promoters into the festival teams symbolizes a structural change in the way inclusion is viewed: not just as a concern for the public, but as a commitment to staff diversity. In addition, the Fundação MEO once again implementing the "Estou Aqui! Children" initiative, in partnership with the PSP, helping to make MEO Marés Vivas an increasingly family-friendly, safe and welcoming festival. This action goes hand in hand with the installation of sunscreen dispensers on the site - a simple measure, but essential for the well-being of participants, reinforcing the commitment to public health in a context of large outdoor crowds.
Memorable experiences with the MEO brand
In addition to the main stage - Palco MEO - visitors will be able to enjoy the MEO Ferris Wheel and the MEO Lounge, an exclusive space for guests and customers, equipped with all the amenities. There will also be activations with digital influencers and guided tours of the venue, providing moments of great proximity between the public and the brand.
An excellent line-up on five stages
The festival will feature five stages, three of which are part of the MEO universe's brand ecosystem (Palco MEO, Palco MOCHE and Palco SAPO Comédia), as well as the Coca-Cola and Samba stages. Artists such as Scorpions, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Ozuna, Xutos & Pontapés and Pedro Sampaio promise three unforgettable days of music and entertainment.
