MEO Empresas ensures cutting-edge technological infrastructure at World Scout Moot 2025
For the first time, Portugal is hosting the world's largest gathering of young adult scouts, the 16th World Scout Moot 2025. To provide a connected and innovative experience for more than 7,500 participants from 110 countries, MEO Empresas is taking on the role of official technology partner, ensuring a robust infrastructure and advanced connectivity throughout the event, from July 23 to August 3.
"We are proud to take on the role of technology partner for this historic event, putting our experience and innovation at the service of a large-scale operation that reinforces Portugal's position as a benchmark for major global events," says Nuno Nunes, CSO B2B, MEO Empresas.

State-of-the-art technological infrastructure
In charge of the event's connectivity, MEO Empresas implemented a robust and innovative solution:
  • 4,000 meters of optical fiber and 3,000 meters of cable installed;
  • Around 75 pieces of network equipment, including switches, routers and Wi-Fi antennas;
  • A team of dozens of specialized technicians dedicated to operation and ongoing support;
  • Centralized network management and permanent technical support at the two main hubs: Parque Tejo (Lisbon) and Centro Escutista do Buçaquinho (Cortegaça, Ovar).
This infrastructure was designed to meet the demands of a large-scale event, guaranteeing high-capacity Wi-Fi coverage, mobile network reinforcement and full access to fiber optics in all critical areas.

Commitment to technological excellence
The partnership reaffirms MEO Empresas ' commitment to providing state-of-the-art, secure and reliable technological solutions, adapted to demanding contexts and large-scale operations.
Beyond the immediate technological impact, this operation contributes to youth diplomacy and strengthens Portugal's international positioning as a host for events that promote universal values, interculturality and the construction of a common future. The legacy of this infrastructure will serve as a reference for future editions and large-scale events.
