MEO was recognized for the second consecutive year as 'Best in Test - Mobile Internet', according to data from DECO PROTESTE's QualRede application, consolidating its leading position in the telecommunications sector in Portugal.
The analysis, based on tests carried out by 72,000 users over the last 12 months, confirms that MEO excels in download speed and mobile internet quality, the factors most valued by consumers.
Record speed and leadership in 5G
The tests show that MEO achieved an average download speed of 239 Mbps, a significant increase on the 161 Mbps recorded in July last year. As far as 5G is concerned, the operator remains in the lead, with an average download speed of 324 Mbps.
In addition, with a total of 156,167 points in user experience, MEO demonstrates significant superiority compared to the other operators, generally offering the fastest and most consistent browsing experience in Portugal.
Continuous recognition and commitment to innovation
This result reinforces the distinction already awarded by nPerf, which recently highlighted MEO as a leader in fixed and mobile network performance, with emphasis on Wi-Fi and 5G performance. These recognitions demonstrate that excellence depends not only on the number of base stations, but on the ability to offer the right services with the quality of experience desired by customers, regardless of their location.
For José Pedro Nascimento, MEO's CTO, "This recognition reinforces our ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in service quality. We have invested significantly in improving our networks, including the expansion of 5G technology, to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience. Our leadership in network speed and quality reflects the continuous efforts of our team and the trust that consumers place in us."
"The QualRede app is increasingly the choice of consumers to check the quality of their mobile operator's network, with a high standard of efficiency. And this is reflected in the validity of the data. Our aim is, as always, to defend consumers by helping them make the best possible decision and, in this particular case, the best choice for mobile internet," explained Nuno Pais de Figueiredo, Public Affairs at DECO PROteste.
