Fundação MEO and PSP strengthen partnership for digital security
The aim of this partnership is to promote digital literacy and raise awareness of the responsible use of technology in schools from primary to secondary school and since 2015 it has resulted in around 14,000 actions with the participation of around 346,000 students. To this end, training content is produced, such as tutorials, games and digital brochures, as well as support guides for classroom support, to be used by PSP officers.

The 2025 Communicate Safely Program covers a number of current topics, such as Privacy and Digital Security, Fake News, Online Grooming, Erotic Content and Stalking, Online Gaming and Addiction, Cybercrime, Education Platforms, Hate Speech and Cyberbullying, and Artificial Intelligence, this year's new topic.

The protocol was signed by Madalena Albuquerque, Executive Director of the Fundação MEO and by the Deputy National Director for the Operations and Security Organic Unit, Superintendent Pedro Manuel Neto Gouveia.

The partnership is part of the nationwide Safe School Program, which includes all non-higher education establishments, public, private and cooperative. The Safe School Programme originated in a protocol signed in 1992 between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education and its aims are to promote a culture of safety in schools and foster civic-mindedness and citizenship, contributing to the affirmation of the school community as a privileged space for integration and socialization.

A Fundação MEO continues to pursue its purpose of putting technology at the service of communication and knowledge, contributing to accessibility and inclusion for all by supporting citizenship and social intervention initiatives.
