The biggest summer festival in the Azores is back for another memorable edition. From August 7 to 9, MEO Monte Verde transforms Monte Verde Beach, in Ribeira Grande, São Miguel, into a meeting point for music, technology, sustainability and inclusion. More than just a musical event, the festival is an engine of cultural and economic dynamism for the region, with MEO playing a central role as naming sponsor and main technological partner.
A brand that invests in the Azores
By consistently investing in MEO Monte Verde, MEO is reinforcing its commitment to the sustainable development of the Azores, supporting the local economy, enhancing Azorean culture and promoting social cohesion through music. This connection materializes not only in support for the event, but also in an investment in state-of-the-art communication networks, with a real and lasting impact on the archipelago, which currently has 97% coverage in optical fibre, 99.9% in 2G and 4G, and 85.2% in 5G.
MEO believes that music is a universal language with transformative power. By sponsoring MEO Monte Verde, the brand promotes Azorean culture and creates opportunities for local artists to share the stage with nationally and internationally renowned artists. This appreciation of regional talent and island identity is at the heart of MEO's cultural strategy.
"MEO Monte Verde represents the perfect fusion of technology, culture and community. We are proud to continue investing in the Azores, creating local value and memorable experiences for all those who live here or visit us," says Luís Cabral, Commercial Director of MEO Empresas Açores.
A leading technology festival
The 2025 edition reaffirms MEO Monte Verde as one of the most technologically advanced festivals in the country. With a state-of-the-art network infrastructure, MEO guarantees full coverage of fiber optics, Wi-Fi and mobile communications (2G, 4G and 5G) throughout the festival grounds, including the camping area. The mobile network has been specially reinforced, ensuring stable, high-quality connectivity at all points of the event, so that attendees can enjoy live broadcasts, high-definition streaming and seamless communications.
For this edition, more than 2 km of optical fiber and 450 meters of UTP cable were installed, with the aim of guaranteeing superior mobile coverage, supporting the needs of partners, media and emergency services on a continuous basis. This technological investment puts MEO Monte Verde at the forefront of connectivity, offering a digital experience of excellence to participants, in line with our commitment to connecting people in an effective and personalized way.
Espaço Sensações: a new experience for MEO customers
The 2025 edition of MEO Monte Verde presents something new: the Sensations space. Integrated into the camping area, this new concept will provide 16 customers with an exclusive experience, marked by comfort, safety and personalized support from the MEO team. Camping Sensations is distinguished by the unique conditions offered, which include tents already set up and provided free of charge, reinforced security and reserved sanitary facilities, guaranteeing a more comfortable and peaceful stay throughout the three days of the festival.
Inclusion and sustainability as pillars
Committed to promoting an accessible and inclusive culture, MEO and the Fundação MEO are integrating the "Music with Meaning" project into the festival for the first time - representing an innovative approach and an example of accessibility, respect for diversity and social innovation in Portuguese festivals. In 2025, the festival will have platforms for people with reduced mobility and Portuguese Sign Language interpreters, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can experience music to the full.
More than 20,000 participants expected
With an eclectic line-up that includes names such as Seu Jorge, Portugal. The Man, Silence 4, Plutonio, Fernando Daniel and Boney M., the 2025 edition expects to attract around 40,000 attendees, consolidating MEO Monte Verde's status as the leading summer festival in the Azores. The economic and tourist impact on the island of São Miguel is significant, boosting restaurants, hotels, shops and other local activities.
