MEO renews its commitment to national culture with "Summer Rain"

Premiering this Thursday, the feature film, directed by António Mantas Moura, tells the story of eight friends who get together every year on the same summer home .

Between bonds put to the test and confrontations with the past, 'Summer Rain' was described by the author and director, in an interview with Cinemundo - the film's distributor - as a "reflection on friendship in difficult times".

The film, which is also António Mantas Moura's debut in the seventh art, is eagerly awaited by audiences and critics alike, having been part of the official selection at the Seattle Film Festival and the Kimolos International Film Festival, and having also been honored at the Houston International Film Festival, where it won the awards for Best Film, Best Director and Best Cinematography.

The feature film is also part of the official selection for what will be the first edition in Portugal of the prestigious Tribeca Festival, which will take place next October in Lisbon, and of which MEO is one of the main sponsors.

On the big screen and, soon, at the MEO VideoClub, in 'Chuva de Verão', several Portuguese actors play opposite each other - some of whose names are already widely known to the public, such as Inês Aguiar, Filipe Amorim, India Branquinho, Francisco Faria, Duarte Melo, João Pedro Dantas, Alice Ruiz and Paula de Magalhães.
