MEO Empresas and Nokia strengthen partnership to accelerate digitalization of companies through 5G private networks
During the Mobile World Congress 2024, MEO Empresas and Nokia announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the digitalization of Portuguese companies in the context of Industry 4.0. Reinforcing their already historic connection, the companies will work together to promote the digital transition of businesses to offer new services, higher levels of efficiency, resilience and productivity, critical to ensuring their ongoing competitiveness.

Service architectures based on 5G technology also make it possible for new processes and operations to be supported in a totally private environment. These 5G private networks therefore offer greater security, reliability, lower latency and differentiated levels of service for business-critical uses in industry and other sectors of activity such as health, transport, energy, logistics or distribution. On the other hand, they also allow for the massification of different solutions through network slicing.

These 5G private networks will boost Industry 4.0 by giving companies access to the most innovative digital technologies - such as integral robotic automation or artificial intelligence and advanced analytics - to transform their operational processes.

For Ana Figueiredo, CEO of Altice Portugal, "this partnership with Nokia allows us to offer new levels of competitiveness and maximize the scale of our operations, reflected in the innovation offered to our customers in terms of technology and solutions. By using private mobile networks, we can meet the critical communications needs of industries, public bodies, cities and companies, where automation and process automation are crucial aspects. We are entering a 5G era of unprecedented high potential."

Sérgio Catalão, CEO of Nokia Portugal, said: "We are excited about this partnership, combining our technological leadership in private 5G mobile networks with MEO Empresas' B2B solutions and services presence, we will provide unique solutions for the Portuguese business market. 5G has immense potential to drive business digitalization and unlock innovative use cases, enabling new revenue streams."

This is another partnership that contributes to MEO Empresas as a driver of the digital and competitive economy.
