MEO and Garnier team up again to protect the health of the Portuguese this summer

Starting this Saturday, the 27th, from the north to the south of the country and the islands, the Portuguese and tourists visiting the country will once again find the usual Sensitive Advanced SPF 50+ Light Texture Milk sunscreen dispensers on their arrival at the beach. The cream, which is hypoallergenic, not only offers protection with greater resistance and can be applied to various skin types, but is also committed to respecting the oceans. 

The pedal-operated dispensers have been strategically positioned to ensure that everyone has easy and safe access to sunscreen, so that it can be effectively made available to all those who have forgotten or ignored the importance of using it. The aim is to guarantee affordable protection, while respecting hygiene and safety standards. This is already the 5th edition of a campaign that has been growing every year, not only in the number of beaches where it takes place but also in the number of people it reaches. Carolina Deslandes, MEO's ambassador for causes, has been the voice and face of this initiative since the beginning, inspiring and raising awareness among the Portuguese of the importance of sun protection. 

The leadership of the MEObrand's leadership and the aim of humanizing society give it a special responsibility, which materializes, at each initiative, in the assumption of a commitment to the most pressing causes facing that society. This is therefore the vector that guides the brand in its social and environmental intervention. This campaign is about the risks of unprotected sun exposure and the environmental impact of both the proliferation of single-use plastic packaging and the waste of cream. The aim, in addition to making the Portuguese aware of the need to maintain a healthy relationship with the sun - allowing everyone to enjoy the benefits of summer in a responsible way - is to transform an individual consumer good into a service accessible to all.

The summer vacations are undoubtedly one of those moments. And when it comes to the risks of sun exposure, MEO wants to go beyond the awareness campaign and take a proactive stance by providing free protection and thereby defending everyone's health and well-being."

This year, between July 27 and August 31, this action will take place on 23 beaches:
